I don't get it now....I never did get it...

When Blue first debuted on television, everyone was talking about the new heart throb of an actor in the lead role of John Kelly. I was watching of course, but I just didn't get it. I didn't see the appeal of David Caruso. I didn't think he was all the great of an actor and I certainly didn't think he was all that handsome. Caruso left to pursue the "big screen" as we all know and we all know where that took him - can anyone say Jade or Kiss of Death? Anyway, now on CSI: Miami, I keep reading in various magazines that he's still a big fan favorite and that he's this big sex symbol. Once again, I'm not getting it. Anyone out there care to explain it to me?

In keeping with the theme of this blog - here's a photo of Caruso at this afternoon's Cure Autism Now event in Beverly Hills at the Donald J. Pliner store. A worthy event and cause for Mr. Caruso to turn out for and to give his time to.

Sorry, I just don't see it...

not Blue related but I just had to mention this...

My favorite morning show - Today? Good Morning America? the CBS thingy (not a good omen when you can't remember the name of their morning show), CNN? No, my favorite morning show is Good Day LA on Fox. This morning news show is must see TV if you live in Los Angeles or have access to it via one of the satellite services like DishNetwork or DirecTV. Often funny, usually irreverent, sometimes serious when needed (but never taking themselves too seriously) but ALWAYS entertaining. The show features Steve Edwards, Jillian Barberie and Dorothy Lucey and yesterday they took part in the Macy's Passport Gala. I guess if you want to make a Blue connection - they often visit backstage with TV shows and they did so with Blue during it's last season. Over the years, various Blue cast members stopped by to visit. The show often has guest co-hosts and I think Charlotte Ross would make an excellent choice when it comes time to promote her upcoming Lifetime movie and one of the indie films she has recently worked on.

Does Jimmy have political aspirations?

We're not sure but he sure does look official here as he is seen with Los Angeles mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, at the annual Macy's Passport Fashion Gala and Show. The annual event was held yesterday at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport. In addition to Jimmy, the show included Sharon Stone, Brooke Shields, Sean "Diddy" Combs and even an appearance by Elizabeth Taylor. Here's another photo of Jimmy seen arriving at the event with longtime girlfriend, Wanda de Jesus.

Medavoy and Abby are reunited!

Gordon Clapp has signed on for a role in the upcoming Disney football flick, The Game Plan. The film stars Kyra Sedgwick, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Morris Chestnut and Paige Turco - Gordon's former Blue crush Abby. The film features on a Boston quarterback and man-about-town ("The Rock") who learns that he has a 7-year-old daughter. Sedgwick is his ruthless agent. Clapp is the football coach. BTW, this is Turco's second recent turn in a football feature. She is currently seen as Carol Vermeil in “Invincible." Filming starts next week in Boston.

Henry bowls for a new Blackberry

The celebs turned out last night in Los Angeles for the debut of the new Blackberry Pearl. The event pitted celebs bowling against each other to win one of the new Blackberrys. Bit sure if Henry did the bowling part but he looked winning as he showed up for the event.

Garcelle glams it up in Hollywoodland

Garcelle joined the glitteratti for the gala premiere of Hollywoodland last night in Los Angeles. The film follows a detective as he examines the mysterious death of George Reeves, TV's Superman - based on the true story, the movie stars Ben Affleck and Diane Reeves and Blue's own Joe Spano! Personally, I can't wait to see this film - it looks great!

Kim Delaney heads to South Carolina for work

From The Hollywood Reporter:

"NYPD Blue" veteran Kim Delaney will star in Lifetime's drama pilot "Army Wives." The ensemble project revolves around a sassy woman (Sally Pressman) from the wrong side of the tracks who marries a soldier, moves her kids onto a military base and becomes friends with a diverse group of Army wives. Delaney will play the strong and likable colonel's wife, whom all other military wives look up to.

Brigid Brannagh has also been cast. She will play another Army wife -- a former cop and a mother of two who is pregnant with twins as a surrogate for a couple who can't conceive.

Production is slated to begin this month in South Carolina.

Delaney, who won an Emmy for her role on ABC's "NYPD Blue," most recently starred in TNT's miniseries "Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King." Brannagh co-starred on FX's Iraq war drama "Over There."
