The Henessey Dinner for the Alma Awards was this past weekend at the Park Plaza in Los Angeles. Esai was there and caught up with friends like Mario Lopez - the former co-star of Mark-Paul Gosselaar on Saved By The Bell. The Alma Awards honor the actors and directors who promote positive portrayals of Hispanics in the media as well as music.

A day after the Golden Globes, the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards held a press event to show off the gift package presenters will receive. Esai Morales was one of those present to show off the valuables as well as the new set for the show which will air January 29th on TNT. The presenters gift package includes such items as a moped, vacations, clothing, cooking lessons, watches, electronics, luxury hotel stays and much more. You can also get your hands on part of this take over at eBay. Sharon Lawrence will star with Nicholas ("Resurrection Blvd.", "The O.C.") Gonzalez in the world premiere of Dialectics of the Heart at the Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica. Described by Playbill as "The world of philosophy and romance ignite when a university professor who follows the theories of Plato and Descartes encounters a younger graduate student who "embodies the romantic philosophies of Rosseau," according to show materials."

As most of the blogs loyal readers know, Dennis was the Grand Marshall of the Santa Barbara Christmas Parade. Charlotte finally returned to television last night on ABC's Jake In Progress. The show had a premiere party last night in Los Angeles and the cast showed up for the press. Here's a nice shot of Charlotte with John.

While I won't say it's the best sitcom I've ever seen, I see a great deal of promise here with Charlotte's character of Annie. She was the bright spot in the show for me. While I have liked Wendie Mallick in past work, I thought her character was out of place on the show, forced. I think we might be seeing some nice interaction between Charlotte and John Stamos in the upcoming episodes. More than we were ever allowed to witness on Blue. I'm looking forward to it!

New question to ponder over - Next weekend you can hang out with any one member of the NYPD Blue cast through the years. Anyone one Dennis to Mark-Paul to Sherry (Stringfield, remember her back in the day?) to Kim to Bill B. Who would you choose? What would you do? Who do you think you'd have the most fun with and why? Give it some thought and let us know the who, what, why, when and where! Personally, I have to think about this one! I think each one of the cast could be loads of fun, depending on what you want to do.

It's been slim picking lately for the blog postings. The former Blue-sters just haven't been seen out much during the holidays. Now that business is getting pretty much back to normal - or as normal as it can in Hollywood - I'm hoping some of our favorites will be showing up at events around LA. In the mean time, as if you needed another reminder, Jake In Progress premieres tomorrow, Monday, January 9th at 9:30 PM on ABC. I know the reviews have been mixed but so far, what I've read gives Charlotte's character of Annie a thumbs up. Check it out and judge for yourself. Where, oh where, is Dennis Franz these days? In Idaho? In Santa Barbara? Traveling the world with Joanie and the family?

So far, post Blue the for cast members have stayed busy with work. Esai has some feature work in the can as well as having appeared on ABC's Freddie. Jackie Obradors is riding high on ABC's Freddie as the female lead. Mark-Paul Gosselaar is showing up weekly on the alphabet network's Commander in Chief. Henry Simmons has a couple feature rolls in the works. Austin Majors is popping up here and there in commercials. Currie Graham did a turn on Fox's House. Both Gordon Clapp and Bill Brochtrup did their part in theatrical productions - Bill in Boston and Gordon on Broadway. Bonnie Somerville was in the witty FOX sitcom Kitchen Confidential. Finally, Charlotte Ross appeared post pregnancy to the delight of her followers and has not one but two projects - an independent feature and a co-starring role in ABC's Jake In Progress, which begins January 9.

So, that leaves us with our fearless leader, Sgt. Sipowicz. Where are you when we need you? I'm all with you on taking some time to relax and regroup after your long run on Blue. Hanging out with the family and doing some travelling is wonderful. Getting to know your grandchild, catching up on your reading, doing those little things in the community - like sitting in as Grand Marshall of the Santa Barbara Holiday Parade. But now it's time...time to show your handsome smiling face someplace in public! We miss you big guy!! So, if you can be ever so kind to humor your loyal fans with an appearance or something we would be forever in your debt. I'm telling you, there are some of the blog readers here that may require medical attention if you don't show up some place soon! So, pack a bag for the weekend, drive down to LA and take Joanie out for lunch at The Ivy or dinner at Koi. Make sure the photographers are there and snap your handsome mug! If a meal out isn't to your liking, why not check out a premiere or show. I hear BARK at the Coast Playhouse is quite good. It's closing soon so you better get moving. Or maybe you'd like to check out some new snazzy cars at the LA Auto Show. It starts later this week...Having trouble deciding what you want to do in LA?
