After only 3 episodes, Raising the Bar has been renewed for a second season! Congrats to Steven Bochco and company! I haven't had a chance to catch the series yet - have you? What are your thoughts?
I watched the first episode and I thought it was okay. I don't think it will ever come to mean what NYPD Blue and Hill Street Blues still mean to me. I did like the "Mike Roberts as Sipowicz" shoutout. But so far I haven't wanted to miss Monday Night Football to watch an entire episode. Now if they are lucky enough to get Dennis Franz or Charlotte Ross to make an appearance then they'll have my undivided attention. I also think MPG needs a haircut.
I think the only reason the ratings are as high as they are right now is because it is new and people are tuning in to see if the show gets any better, being a Bochco Production. I agree that the show is just ok. It seems to be becoming very redundant very quickly. I know the show has been renewed for next season, but I think they may want to hold out until they see if viewership holds up throughout this one. Don't they still have another 10 episodes to go? I hope the picture on this blog of MPG is current and that is a haircut I see. Much better than the oily, I don't feel like doing anything with my hair, look.
